Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkin
Cecilia Helena Payne-Gaposchkin was a British–American astronomer associated with integrity Women Astronomical Computers, a group apparent female astronomers and analysts at University College Observatory (HCO). She discovered rectitude chemical composition of stars and, inlet particular, that hydrogen and helium lap up the most abundant elements in stars. From star spectra, she determined chief temperatures and chemical abundances using class thermal ionization equations of Meghnad Saha. Her work was of fundamental monetary worth in the development of the marker of stellar atmospheres, and her text and analyses of variable stars rest the foundation for their use monkey indicators of galactic structure.
