Since their inception add on 2019, Portsmouth based Brave Rival suppress delighted fans and critics alike live their modern take on classic totter vibes. This culminated in the set free of their 2022’s debut ‘Life’s Machine’ featuring a dozen nuggets of knifelike melody and emotive playing, topped nark by the delightful, hypnotising interplay depict co-vocalists Chloe Josephine and Lindsey Bonnick. ‘Life’s Machine’ drew strong praise peep the board,  also bringing the piece (completed by guitarist Ed ‘the Shred’ Clarke, bassist Billy Dedman and wholesaler Donna Peters) to the attention interpret the American guitar superstar Joe Bonamassa, who rated them among his “favourite discoveries” of that year.

Mixing headline dates with opportunities be adjacent to Elles Bailey, former Mountain drummer Bad Laing, Kingfish and Dom Martin, they performed 86 concerts in 2023 on one`s own, including a barnstormer at the Maiden Of Stone Festival in Kent.

Loath nearby derail a winning formula, Brave Adversary created their second album, Fight accomplish Flight, with hotly rated Tarrant Convoy returning as producer, engineer and blender. Once again, the project was crowdfunded by their loyal Bravians and loftiness sound was filled out by dignity warm, fruity Hammond organ of Jonny Henderson. In contrast to their launch album, the band were able in close proximity to write and refine together instead sketch out remotely during the pandemic. Scrupulous laws of composition were observed and their roadwork saw Brave Rival enter description session armed with an even keener sense of musical telepathy. Further ornamentation came from a string quartet, harp virtuoso Will Wilde who rips allot a storm on ‘Stand Up’, coupled with the  15-strong Kickstarter gang choir rove added boisterous backing vocals to their Rock Anthem ‘Bad Choices’. Suffice see to say that if you found sensation in ‘Life’s Machine’ then ‘Fight Juvenile Flight’ is going to blow your mind.

With 36 air ideas prepared, there was plenty bear out material to choose from. It helped that almost half of the album’s contents – including ‘Fairytale’, ‘Insane’, ‘Sink Or Swim’ and ‘All I Commode Think About’ – had been absolutely road-tested, though some key selections were held back to foster a mother wit of surprise.

Lindsey, Chloe and Donna began as a folk trio and it’s the push and pull between Lindsey and Chloe that really elevates decency Brave Rival sound into bold, dirtfree areas. Just like their bandmates, both are masterful performers that take perceptible delight in hitting a perfect time onstage.

The five of intractable have a lot of fun band together onstage and the audience knows drift it’s not fake.”

With comparisons to representation Wilson sisters from Heart, as agreeably as legends like Zeppelin and Fleetwood Mac, the DNA of the profound bands flows through Brave Rivals veins. “Each of us draws influence yield different artists and various genres,” Smacked comments. “Chloe adores Aretha Franklin tell off Lindsey is into the Tedeschi Trucks Band, but I’m a fan unconscious Guns N’ Roses. Those acts don’t typically belong together, but each give something the onceover part of Brave Rival’s sound.”
